Interested in supporting Women Empowering Women? We have several opportunities for you or your organization to support our cause. Aside from monetary contributions that can be used to support or organization and scholarships for young women in recovery, we also have ways you can become involved to advocate for these women in need and even become a sponsor!

Becoming a Sponsor of WEW

We have sponsorship opportunities available for our conferences. Our sponsors encouraged to bring literature from your company, you will also be given the opportunity to keep in contact with attendees. Our sponsors also participate in a raffle for supplied door prizes. We have several levels of sponsorship available with many benefits. We are always seeking women who can advocate for empowerment, courage and building self-esteem. If you are someone who can speak with experience on lifting others up, we’re interested to hear from you! Contact us regarding speaking and mentorship opportunities with our program.

The goal of our mentorship program is to provide support and guidance to women in recovery that are seeking an education, as well as sharing experience, strength, and hope.

WEW Mentorship program will model the traditional AA sponsor-sponsee format and adhere to the following guidelines established by WEW.

  • Each mentor must be in recovery for at least 2 years and have achieved an educational degree while in recovery (i.e. Associate of Arts degree, Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Ph.D, Doctorate or any certificate degree that is appropriate)
  • Mentor/Mentee will meet face to face initially to review the “Mentorship Plan” and to discuss any additions or alterations that they feel necessary and both will sign contract
  • For the first month of the program, mentor/mentee will speak at agreed upon scheduled time and day at least 2 times a week
  • After the first month, mentor/mentee will establish appropriate contact time and schedule going forward, however contact once a week is suggested
  • Mentor/mentee should meet once a month to review and update “Mentorship Plan”
  • Mentor is requested to meet and attend WEW meetings and events to discuss any issues with mentorship program and seek advice and discussion with fellow mentors
  • Mentor list will be assimilated as well as potential mentee list and selection will be self-matching following the model of AA sponsor/sponsee dyad

A formal contract will be signed by mentor and mentee after agreed upon guidelines. MP will be the essence of the mentorship program and each mentor should be covering each aspect of the MP each time interacting with the mentee. Minimum guidelines will include the following components to assist mentee with having a successful academic career and utilizing the tools in recovery:

  • Emotional Support
  • Recovery Support
  • Educational Support
  • Self-care
  • Time Management skills
